About Kate

My yoga classes are designed to build strength, resilience and mobility in the body and these are linked together in accessible sequences. A major element of classes is working with the breath, which is one of the best ways of managing stress and promoting overall well-being. I use principles of mindfulness in yoga classes so we practice enquiring into our experience of each breath and posture without judging ourselves. Over time, this has the effect of maintaining mental as well as physical health.

I hold a 500 hour diploma from the British Wheel of Yoga.  I have experience of working with a wide range of clients and adapts classes so that they are suitable for all bodies.

Recent training:

  • Restorative Yoga Training with Roger Cole, 2016
  • Certificate in Post-Natal Yoga Teaching with Birthlight, 2017
  • Yin Yoga Teacher Training with YogaHaven Academy, 2017
  • Mentoring from Naomi Absalom, 2018 – present
  • Pranayama with Philip Xerri, 2021

I am a yoga teacher, dancer and mother and am a passionate advocate of the benefits of moving for everyone. I am a former professional dancer who has gradually moved away from dance and towards yoga as this aligns more with my belief that moving is an end in itself rather than how it looks. I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for 11. I am fascinated by how these ancient teachings of yoga can be used help us function in this world with more ease and continually reflecting as to how yoga these traditions can evolve to stay relevant to the challenges of the modern world.

My classes are welcoming and inclusive, creating a nourishing space to explore self-awareness and acceptance. I am able to share my years of experience and study to give people tools to look after themselves both mentally and physically.
